Scope of Privacy Statement


This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for the Official Police Garage Association of Los Angeles (OPGLA). OPGLA (“us”, “we”, or “our”), operates this website (Our “Services”) and has created this Privacy Policy to inform you of Our collection, use and sharing practices for information that we collect from you through Our Services.

This Privacy Statement (“Privacy Statement”) describes how OPGLA, LLC, and its members handle your personal information in connection with the following (collectively, the “Services”): including www.OPGLA and any other website owned and run by OPGLA.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing


OPGLA is a social welfare organization created under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code and are often referred to as 501(c)(4) organizations. Their primary purpose is to promote the common good and general welfare of the community and provide information on vehicles impounded by our members. Our members collect impound information as part of their official duties. OPGLA does not collect data on birthdays, race, etc. We provide a free service for people to locate vehicles impounded. While we do not sell personal information, we sell limited access to our VIIC system to banks and other interested parties who need to find vehicles impounded.


When using our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, vehicle information and other information to help you with your experience. We may also collect and store personal information about vehicles that our members enter into the VIIC system. We do not sell personal information. If you use our free service to search for a vehicle at www.opglaviic.com we may store and use the information you provide to us. By using the Services, you expressly consent to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Statement.


This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. When do we collect information?


We collect information from you when you register on our site, subscribe to receive our free weekly auction email, or enter information on our website.

How do we use your information?


We may use the information we collect from you when you register, sign up for our newsletter, in the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content in which you are most interested.
  • To improve our website in order to serve you better.
  • To send periodic emails regarding your interest in our vehicle auctions.
  • To follow up with them after correspondence (email or phone inquiries)

How do we protect your information?


Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities to make your visit to our site as safe as possible. We use regular Malware Scanning.


Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted technology. We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.

Do Not Track Signals


We do not respond to or alter our practices detailed herein based upon your selection of the “Do Not Track” setting or other “opt-out” setting or feature that may be offered by your browser; however, we reserve the right to do so in the future.

  • We may make information collected through OPGLA available to law enforcement for investigative purposes or as provided under OPG’s contracts with governmental agencies.

Opting Out of Communications from Us


If you no longer wish to receive direct mail OPGLA Communications, you may opt-out by using the unsubscribe link on each email you receive.

We have adopted a policy of not sharing the personal information of customers with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
